Shannen Chau is best known for her hand painted, watercolor paper fans. She is a Chinese born, Michigan raised Multidisciplinary Artist based in Brooklyn, NY.  Inspired by long days at botanical gardens, minimal color palettes and ornate finishings, these paintings shed light on her personal views on cultural identity. Through painting in an organic manner and various interpretations of nature’s rhythms and flow, she aims to merge elements from the east to west in a contemporary, yet nostalgic format.
